Please join us for good food, fun, and friendship. This is an evening for
friends, families, and children. The food will be fantastic if the potluck is
like that of years past, and the games will be lively and fun.

This is also the evening in which
Jerry Wilhm, our Nominations
Committee Chair, presents our slate of nominees, and we elect our
2011-2012 officers and board.
Sarah Kimball will be rewarding
Birdathon Teams for their fundraising efforts, and
Susan Walker will
lead the group in some bird games, including Name that Bird and Name
that Tune, Bird Bingo, Birdopoly, and Birdwatching Trivia.

Bird Bingo and Birdopoly are designed for children 7 years old and over,
though both games are fun for adults as well. Adults and savvy kids
need to bone up on their aural birdsong memory to compete in Name
that Tune, and all need to bone up on their birds—both North American
and a few exotic—to ace the Name that Bird game in which the
audience will identify the birds on slides.

Please bring a potluck dish to feed at least six, as well as plates and
utensils for you and your family. Cups, napkins, and beverages will be
provided.

Hope to see you all there! This event is free and open to the public. You
need not be an Audubon Member to attend.
Hoot Owl Ranch
Sat, Sept 4 - Mon, Sept 6

Please plan on joining us for our fall overnight field trip, this year over
Labor Day Weekend, to exciting Black Mesa, home of golden eagles and
Lewis's woodpeckers, among others.

We'll leave at 2 PM from the parking lot on Lewis Street across from the
Municipal Bldg to carpool to Black Mesa (a 6.5-hour trip).

Participants have a choice of tenting at Black Mesa SP or staying at the
Hoot Owl Ranch.
Reservations are still open at Hoot Owl Ranch for this
weekend. If you are interested, you need to reserve a spot quickly
because it will fill up.

Those not staying at the ranch are welcome to join Michael Harvey, field
trip organizer, at
Black Mesa Campgrounds. The campgrounds
are very nice with flush toilets and shower facilities.

If you plan on attending, please be sure to RSVP to
Michael Harvey
to give him an idea of numbers.

See
flyer for full details re activities, reservations, and meals.

We welcome all who are interested in birding this western area of
Oklahoma. You need not be a member of Payne County Audubon to attend.
